Biography

Darren is the prince of the royal Trace family, which includes Arthur Trace (the king), Helen Trace (the queen), and Alicia Trace (the princess).

Before becoming prince

His family was rich and he grew up without going through the trials and tribulations of most hard working people. Darren considered poverty, crime, and death non-existent in life, and so he grew up to be ignorant of the outside world and did not possess a great sense of responsibility because he did not take on any jobs in the past. Darren's priorities were placed upon his academics and his family, giving him a sheltered personality because of his lack of a social life outside of home and school.

Prince life

When the Aquatia empire was established, Prince Darren was practically clueless on how to operate when he was put in charge of Aqua Island. He became dependent on his father's advice, as well as his military advisers' help. This short period of royalty did not do much to change Darren's already closed-off life. Soon without a word of warning, his father, the king, cut off all communication with him and the rest of Aqua Island. This would lead to an event that would change Darren forever (see the Aquatian world or Darren's Story for details).

Current life

Now 19 and stripped of his title and surname of "Trace" for haphazardly fighting against his father, Darren disappeared from the public and now is living alone in a decrepit house in Venecia, the biggest city on Aqua Island. Realizing that the world was not as perfect as he thought, he walks aimlessly around, not caring for the crime-ridden Aqua Island and is convinced that his family (his father in particular) has left him. An education was no longer a privilege, so Darren's academic prowess slowly degraded along with his physical appearance.

Weapon of Choice

Darren received a one-handed single-edged blade (with sheath) when the Aquatia empire was established and he and his family got "royal" status. Serving cosmetic purposes at first, Darren now uses it to relieve stress with each swing. He was not taught the art of sword fighting and any "move" he would execute would be considered self-taught. The somewhat elegant appearance of the sword and sheath clash with Darren's current raggedy attire, and he keeps said equipment for an unknown reason.

Personality

Currently, Darren is pessimistic and soft-spoken. He is indecisive, not knowing what is right and wrong anymore. He reflects on his past mistakes constantly and beats himself up for making them. Darren speaks formally, like a gentleman, yet he sounds cold at the same time. He gives off a very negative aura that would spread to other people at times.
